The size of your boat along with wind and water conditions must be taken into account when selecting dock lines. We like 1/2" for most boats between 22' and 35'. Transient dock lines used as bow and stern lines should be about 2/3 of the boat's length. Spring lines should be about equal to the boat's length. Avoid sharp turns and watch for chafing!
