We are pleased to introduce a complete line of runnng rigging for the MacGregor 26M and 26X.

Each of our lines, sheets and halyards are hand-built in our shop using the best hardware available. We have chosen premium quality Ronstan schackles and Samson's Trophy double braid cordage.

We offer four different colors which allows you to coordinate your canvas accessories or mix and match: black, pacific blue, green and red.

Our running rigging is guaranteed to fit right out of the box. No need for guesswork or measuring. Additionally, we offer two versions of our main and jib halyards: the standard factory length and one which is cut longer for boats where lines have been run aft to the cockpit.

Just an all around better product than the standard factory issue. We start with our premium Samson Trophy double braided line and add an eye that attaches to the fiddle block.

Our mainsheet for the MacGregor 26M and 26X is available in the same four colors as our other running rigging products. In addition to being able to mix and match with your other lines, sheets and halyards, you can also color coordinate them with our canvas accessories.

Simple lines that take a ton of abuse.

Jib and genoa sheets along with the mainsheet are the three lines on your boat that see the most work and as a result are the first to show distress. Sheets will stretch due to heavy wind loads and fraying starts with every tack.

We suggest replacing your existing jib and genoa sheets with our premium Samson Trophy low-tensile cordage. Each custom measured and built sheet is hand whipped and heat sealed at both ends. Simply take your existing sheets and store them for spares.

We have to admit it. In all of our years in and around MacGregors and Ventures, we have seen some crazy rigs for the outhaul. They range from basically non-existent to some fairly elaborate systems.

The outhaul in its simplest form is a line that attaches to the clew of the sail and tied off on a cleat on the boom. It is important for controlling sail shape as well as making reefing of the main sail more safe and easy.

Our outhaul is constructed from the same Samson Trophy braid as our other running rigging products and includes an eye, hand whipping and heat sealed bitter end. Installation of this simple wonder will take you all of five seconds! Okay, maybe 10.

The factory issued traveller sheets are two polyester lines that are attached by bowline knots to the car. Although functional, we have never been a real fan of this arrangement.

Our traveller sheet package is built with premium Samson Trophy double braided line and features dual Ronstan stainless steel shackels, eyes, whipping and burning of the bitter ends. They are a stunning addition to your cockpit and are available in your choice of four colors.

A tack pennant simply assists in lifting a cruising spinnaker higher off the deck. It provides access to cleaner air which results in improved sail performance as well as help protect the sail from rubbing against the pulpit or other deck hardware.

Our tack pennant has been custom designed, cut and built just for the MacGregor 26M and X. It features Samson premium double braid line, a stainless steel Ronstan shackle, eye, hand whipping and heat sealed end bitter end.

As sailors ourselves, we feel strongly that all boats should carry a storm jib as part of their basic sail inventory. Especially light displacement trailerables like the MacGregor. We look at a storm jib as a piece of basic safety equipment and have even made one available on this site. Check our "Sail Loft" page for details.

You will need a tack pennant to fly a storm jib. This is simply a heavy-duty line that attaches to the tack of the sail with a stainless steel shackle with the other end going to the bow area of your boat.

Like our cruising spinnaker tack pennant, ours is built from high tensile Samson double braid line and features a heavy duty Ronstan stainless steel shackel, hand whipping and heat sealed bitter end.

Along with the main and jib sheets, we think the boom vang sheet is another line which should be replaced at your earliest convenience.

The stock cordage that comes with your Mac is great for a back-up set of running rigging. We have a tough time thinking of it as a primary system as it is a bare bones polyester braid that begins to stretch immediately.

Our boom vang sheet is constructed just like our mainsheet. We use high tensile double braid line by Samson with an eye and the bitter end is heat sealed and hand whipped.
