Aftermarket cockpit cushions are outrageously expensive. Granted there is a lot of time put into making them and the materials can be expensive too. But do some shopping and you will be amazed what a new set for the 26M will cost.

We highly recommend the new factory cockpit cushions for the 26M. The materials are better than previous iterations and they are pretty darn comfy.

We kind of wish that the Mast Raising System for the 26M came as standard equipment. Too many people attempt to save a couple of dollars when buying their boat by skipping this item.

The Mast Raising System makes raising and lowering the mast simple. No need to worry about a little breeze. No need to worry if the Admiral or a newbie loses their grip. And you really can't beat the added leverage you get when attaching the headstay. Especially if you have roller furling.

Another factory option that is highly recommended with a 10% discount to boot!

The brand new MacFurler roller system at 10% off the factory price.

The roller furling system offers the single most effective way of exactly matching the amount of sail area to the amount of wind. The boat will sail very well with the jib or genoa completely rolled up, partially unrolled, or completely unrolled to full size. The sail keeps it’s shape no matter how much is rolled in. It is particularly useful when sailing into the wind. If the wind becomes too strong, and the boat is heeling too much, simply roll up some headsail and ease the pressure on the rig. In many situations, the boat will actually sail faster with less sail. All this can be done from the cockpit, and it is not necessary for anyone to go to the foredeck to reduce sail area.

In areas where winds are generally heavy, skippers will usually keep the jib on the furler. In light wind areas, the genoa will be attached. It takes only a few minutes to switch the sails on the furler and its easy to install. For the 26M and 26X.

Here is the five spoke steering wheel that is standard equipment on the MacGregor 26M and X.

It is constructed of highly polished stainless steel and comes with the black plastic center cap.

Replacing your wheel is pretty simple. Just remove the center cap and give the old wheel a good pull. Then replace it with the new one.

The ladder has a significant slope to the rear which makes it easier to use than one that is vertical.

Okay. We thought we could use this item as an excuse for some crude bathroom humor. But we won't.

This is the self-contained head offered as an option for the MacGregor 26M. It can also be installed in the X.

We chose to list this item on our site because the factory provides the mounting hardware along with the unit. You'll have it up and operating in minutes.

Additionally, its a good value considering you get both the head and all hardware in one package.

Ouch! That's gonna leave a mark.

We have all done it. Forgot to pull them up or down at the proper time. As a result, they get a few scratches, dings or worse.

In stock and ready for delivery are the factory manufactured rudders for the 26M.

There are very few dealers that actually keep this item in inventory. They are expensive. The factory list price is $115.00 each plus shipping to the dealer. Since we are at the factory each month picking up new boats, we simply grab a few pair and save the UPS expense.

Many Mac buyers do not order the optional factory boom vang and we have always wondered why.

A boom vang is a pretty important piece of hardware. Not only does it serve as a safety item, it also assists in controlling the shape of the mainsail which provides better sailing performance.

The factory vang can be used on both the 26M and 26X.
