We have found their products exceptionally well-built and very reasonably priced. Unlike Ronstan & Harken; Garhauer isn't out there chasing the big boat racing circuit nor are they spending outrageous money for full-page ads in the big sailing magazines. The cost of this kind of marketing has to come from somewhere and it is usually from your back pocket.

We contacted Garhauer Marine recently and spoke with the design engineer who is responsible for their rigid boom vang product line. We told him we would like to have a boom vang package specifically for the MacGregor 26M. Within two weeks, they had it designed, built and shipped to us!

There are so many things a rigid boom vang does better than a standard block and tackle arrangement. One of the benefits is that it eliminates the need for the topping lift.  This alone can save you $100.00 or more in hardware and cordage costs.

In designing the product, Garhauer took into consideration that the mast rotates on the 26M and it is constructed differently from the 26X. Therefore, there are some very unique parts that come with the package which are not pictured.

Installation is a relatively simple affair and instructions are included.

Here is a great piece of deck hardware that almost seems like it was designed specifically for the MacGregor 26M and 26X.

As you know, the jib and genoa sheets are led through blocks to the winches at the aft end of the cabin roof. For those who sail solo or short handed it can be a be a real pain to tack the boat from the pedestal.

Garhauer has just made life a lot easier for the skipper. They have taken a swivel cam cleat  with a bulls-eye and attached it to a car that will slide right on the aft sail track of your Mac. This set-up provides total control of the jib and genoa right at the pedestal and eliminates having to use the winches in all but the heaviest wind conditions.

Regardless of what boat you sail, it seems there are never enough cleats available. Additionally, the ones that are there never seem to be in the spot you need them most.

Garhauer has come up with an ingenious solution. You can now add a cleat anywhere on the Mac where there is 1" sail track. And luckily, there is plenty of it on just about every MacGregor and Venture model.

Simply slide this slick unit on the track and position it where you like. Turn the tightening knob and you are done!

Take a minute and think about what you can do with these. They are perfect for transient docking, assistance in rafting up to another boat and of course, fender placement.

They have taken one of their premium quality rope clutches and mounted it to a 1" track car. What's great is that all MacGregor and Venture models use 1" so this brute ends up being pretty versatile.

The Garhauer 15-13 US single block with adjustable shackle is one of those items you can probably think up a hundred uses for.

This unit is stainless steel and also comes with a set screw to make it a fixed shackle. Great for the Mac as it handles 5/16" line perfectly. A bargain!
